In the Woods

There were so many large, flat rocks in the mountains. I couldn't help but take the kids' picture at every opportunity!

Chapel

We went hiking in the mountains yesterday and walked up to this stone chapel. It even has a prayer request box inside!

Lunch

Ordering lunch at the Cabana by the outdoor pool.

Running off some energy

There is a nice open area in front of the lodge that the kids could run around in and talk/yell as loudly as they wanted.

A view just down the road from the lodge.

Thomson's Flour Shop

We had breakfast this morning at a bakery in Stowe. It was called Thomson's Flour Shop. Made from scratch English muffins, cinnamon rolls, and pastries.

Boldt Castle

Here, kids are shown on the grounds of Boldt Castle in the St. Lawrence Seaway. The castle is in American waters, but right across the river from Canada.

The Captain

The captain of our boat let all the kids come upstairs and take a turn driving the boat. Alison got to make a hard turn to the left, right before the International bridge to Canada.

Boat Tour of the 1000 Islands

We took a tour of the Thousand Islands today, and here are the kids posing on the boat. It didn't occur to me that that's where the name of the dressing came from!

The View from the SkyWheel

The view from the top of the SkyWheel of the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side.

Niagara Falls

Our first stop on our multi-leg tour of upstate New York and Vermont. The kids were very impressed with the falls, although we had a lot of walking on the first day. We rode the SkyWheel and had a great view of the American Falls as well as the Horseshoe Falls.
